A bit about me: My other involvements in the Lafayette community include being a part of the Hispanic Society of Lafayette. My current career goals are to utilize my passions in government and law to help minority family’s transition to the United States from their home country. My career goals tie in well with my most recent work last year when I worked with a non-profit called MadagascarConnect. I had the great opportunity to travel to Madagascar last year, where I had hands on experience with the Malagasy community. This experience helped me better understand Madagascar: how the government operates, and how it affects the climate of the rainforest and its interaction with the Malagasy community. A word of advice I would give to students in regards to career development is to not be intimidated by what Lafayette has to offer, and to utilize every opportunity given to you that will help with future job opportunities.

As an Employer Relations intern, working alongside the Employer Relations team at Gateway, she will assist with communications, employer activities, and student relations. While she’s exploring what direction her future career will go in, she’s very excited to join the Employer Relations team here at the Gateway Career Center and looking forward to what the year brings!

A bit about me: I am in Greek Life, the Vice President of Club Tennis and work in the Admissions department! Currently, I am planning on pursuing a career in marketing. I love the idea of consumer marketing and intend on using my psychology degree to explore that world more. This past summer, I completed my first professional internship as a Social Media and Public Relations Intern at Novita Communications in NYC. My advice to Lafayette students is that Gateway is the best and easiest way to succeed with all of your career goals. Use them! Get your resume checked, learn how to network, set up a LinkedIn! Gateway is here to help and prepare you for anything that will come at you in the real world during and after college.

Gateway Peer Advisor
Class of 2025
Bachelor of Arts, Economics and Psychology
A bit about me: Apart from being a member of this great community of Gateway Peer Advisors, I am involved in the Hispanic Society of Lafayette as Vice President and Hispanic Finance Association as the Vice President of Mentorship. I also work within Admissions as an Office Worker. My current career goals are to combine my interests in Psychology and Economics to pursue a career in product management. My most recent internship experience was last summer with a startup company called Uncommon Minds that focused on providing mental health and well-being support to Neurodivergent youth in the UK. I was involved in the product development processes of the online platform that they were creating from conducting user research, timeline planning, being involved in workshops to discuss brand language, and running statistical analysis based on feedback they had received. My advice in terms of career development is to not be afraid to explore the different career options out there because with the utilization of Gateway you can learn how to communicate these experiences to job employers even if they don’t necessarily relate to each other. Any experience is there to support you towards achieving your career goals, it is just a matter of how you talk about it in relation to the job description for the job that you are applying for.
